Originally formed in 1985 to cater for a growing demand for miniature ball bearings and small ball bearings in the UK, SMB Bearings has grown over the years to become a major specialist supplier worldwide. We have expanded the range slightly from the original miniature ball bearing and small ball bearing range but are still very much specialists in our field. We still concentrate on a fairly narrow range of ball bearing types. We continue to supply miniature ball bearings and instrument ball bearings but we have added stainless steel bearings, plastic bearings, 316 stainless steel marine grade bearings and ceramic bearings. A much newer aspect of our business is bearing relubrication. As a result of manufacturer's high minimum order quantities for bearings with non-standard lubricants, we began to clean and relubricate our bearings and our expertise in this field has developed considerably. We now process bearings every day, cleaning out the original lubricant and substituting greases, oils or dry lubricants in standard amounts or customer specified fills or weights. We do not only rework our bearings. Customers now send their own product to us for cleaning and relubrication, whether open, shielded or sealed. We are agents for Sapporo Precision of Japan who manufacture EZO brand precision miniature bearings, stainless steel bearings and thin section bearings.
