Non-Magnetic Bearings for MRI Scanners and Semiconductor Equipment

MRI scanners, electron beam equipment, semiconductor and LCD manufacturing and magnetometers all need bearings that ignore magnetic fields or block current.

Chrome steel and 440 grade stainless are both magnetic and conductive. A magnet test only picks out austenitic grades like 316.

SMB Bearings offers semi-precision acetal bearings with 316 or glass balls, plastic bearings in PEEK or PTFE, and full ceramic bearings in zirconia or silicon nitride with PEEK cages or full complement.

There is also 316 stainless with acetal or PEEK cages, fitted with silicon nitride balls where it must be non-conductive.
