Low Temperature Imperial Ceramic Bearings with PTFE Cage

PEEK is tough, but it turns brittle in serious cold. Below minus 70°C, the smart move on an inch size ZrO2 bearing is a PTFE cage or a 316 stainless steel cage.

The CCZR-R8, 0.5 x 1.125 x 0.25 inch, sits in the size band where stainless cages are an option, as they can be fitted to bores from 8mm upwards. The sealed CCZR-R8-2PKS measures 0.3125 inch wide.

Where a specific chemical or temperature extreme is beyond the reach of PEEK, alternative cage materials can be produced to order. Zirconia itself is non-magnetic and highly resistant to most chemicals.

As with all ZrO2 bearings, keep speeds low for the best service life.
