316 Stainless Steel Bearing 20x47x14mm 6204 Size

The S316-6204 is a marine grade 316 stainless steel bearing in the familiar 6204 envelope: 20mm bore, 47mm OD, 14mm wide. The sealed version is S316-6204-2PES.

316 is an austenitic stainless steel with excellent corrosion resistance. It cannot be hardened by heat treatment, so load capacity is well below a 440 grade bearing. It is also harder to grind to tight tolerances, so these are semi-precision parts.

Standard cages and seals are polyethylene, suited to minus 40°C up to 80°C. PEEK or PTFE can be offered for more demanding conditions.

Quick check on the bench: 316 barely reacts to a magnet, while 440 grade is strongly magnetic.
