Reels use anything from one or two bearings up to more than ten in the spools, worm gears and handles of high-end models.
EZO corrosion resistant miniature and stainless thin type bearings are supplied as original equipment to reel makers for their consistent quality. They suit spinning, baitcasting, spincast and centrepin reels.
Open EZO bearings are oiled with low viscosity instrument oil. Shielded ones get a low torque, hard-wearing lithium grease. Shielded bearings can be supplied with one shield only for easier cleaning.
For sea fishing, reel bearings can be relubricated with saltwater resistant or fully waterproof greases.
