Why was my SSIP application referred back by the assessor?

It happens a lot. The reasons are nearly always the same.

Downloaded policies with another company's name still in them. Risk assessments that do not match the work you actually do. No evidence of training. No named competent person. Answers that say what you do, with nothing attached to prove it.

Assessors are not trying to catch you out. They are checking your submission against the SSIP Core Criteria and they need evidence for each point. Miss one and it comes back.
