Low Loader Ramps with Lip Fitting

The lip fitting is the most common way to connect a low loader ramp to a trailer. It rests on the edge of the deck and gives a smooth transition from ramp to bed. On our ramps, it comes with a steel pin and a movable safety device.

The steel pin and safety device help stop the ramp kicking out as the machine climbs. That is the moment that catches people out, when the weight shifts and an unsecured ramp moves. Locking it down takes that risk away.

Drivers tend to prefer the lip option when they work across different trailers or hire vehicles, because it does not depend on a fitting already being on the trailer. Combined with the safety device, it gives a reliable connection wherever the ramp ends up.

A lip fitting suits trailers where the ramp is moved from job to job, or where there is no fixed rail to hook into. It is quick to set up, and drivers get used to it fast.

The lip option is available across the VFR range, on aluminium ramps built for tyred, solid wheel and tracked machines. Pair it with three or four profiles depending on how wide you need the ramp to be.

Lighter ramps are a health and safety win as well as a time saver. Manual handling injuries are common in transport and plant, and reducing the weight drivers lift every day is one of the simplest ways to cut that risk.

Standard ramp sizes and capacities are shown in the tables on each VFR product page. If none of them suits your trailer or machine, other sizes are available on request, so you are not forced into a compromise.
