Steel ramps have their place, but for low loader work aluminium wins on almost every count. Our aluminium low loader ramps give you the strength to carry plant without the back-breaking weight that slows every load down.
The ramps use a special aluminium construction, engineered for loading and unloading machinery day in, day out. They are strong and durable, and because aluminium does not rust the way mild steel does, they stay serviceable through wet winters and salted roads.
There is also the cost of getting it wrong. A damaged ramp can mean a damaged machine, a damaged trailer or worse. Aluminium ramps built for plant work cost less over their life than cheap ramps that need replacing, and they keep looking after your kit long after the purchase is forgotten.
Lighter ramps are easier and safer to handle. One or two people can position them without strain, which cuts the risk of dropped ramps and trapped fingers. Less weight on the trailer also helps with payload, leaving more of your allowance for the machine itself.
Aluminium ramps in the VFR range suit tyred, solid wheel and tracked machines. Choose from lip, hinged or hook connections, and three or four profile widths, to match the job and the trailer you run.
Three connection types are available. A lip with steel pin and movable safety device rests on the deck edge. A hinge fitting fixes the ramp to the trailer. A bottom hook drops into a guide rail so the ramp can slide sideways. Each suits a different trailer and way of working.
Width is set by the number of aluminium profiles. Three profiles give a ramp 390mm wide, and four profiles give 520mm. The narrower ramp saves weight and space, while the wider ramp gives more room for tracks and tyres and more margin for the operator.
