Loading and unloading plant is one of the riskier parts of moving machinery. Ramps that move, machines that slip off the edge and people standing in the wrong place all cause accidents.
A secure ramp connection is the first line of defence. Our lip fitting comes with a steel pin and movable safety device, and the hinge and bottom hook options also keep ramps located against the trailer.
Training matters as much as equipment. Make sure everyone who loads plant knows how to set up the ramps, check the fittings and stay clear of the danger zones. Good ramps support a safe system, they do not replace it.
Width and length matter too. A ramp that is too narrow leaves little margin for error, and one that is too short makes the climb steep. The 520mm four profile ramp and correctly sized lengths help on both counts.
Good practice goes alongside good kit. Check ramps before use, make sure they sit square, keep people clear and use a banksman where needed. The right ramps make doing it properly easier.
The VFR family runs from the VFR 105 to the VFR 120, VFR 134 and VFR 185. Each step offers more capability for heavier plant, while keeping the same aluminium construction and the same choice of fittings and widths.
Alongside the ramps themselves, the VFR range includes wheel ramps, spring assistance, infills and outriggers and a loading station. Together they let you build a loading system that suits your trailers, your machines and your yard.
