The most dangerous moment in loading plant is often when the machine crests the top of the ramp. Weight shifts, the ramp is loaded unevenly, and an unsecured ramp can kick out.
Our lip fitting includes a steel pin and a movable safety device. Together they help hold the ramp in place against the trailer, so it stays where it should through the whole climb.
Many loading incidents start with a ramp that moves. Pins get lost, devices get left undone and drivers get busy. Making the safety device part of every load, every time, is a small habit with a big payoff.
It is a simple feature, but it makes a real difference to how confident operators feel. A ramp that does not move lets the driver concentrate on lining up and controlling the machine.
The lip with safety device is available across the VFR range of aluminium low loader ramps, in 390mm and 520mm widths. Hinge and bottom hook fittings are also available if they suit your trailer better.
Three connection types are available. A lip with steel pin and movable safety device rests on the deck edge. A hinge fitting fixes the ramp to the trailer. A bottom hook drops into a guide rail so the ramp can slide sideways. Each suits a different trailer and way of working.
Guide rail for hook fitting ramps is available in lengths of 2600mm, in black or galvanised steel. It runs across the rear of the trailer and gives the ramps a secure location point that can be adjusted to suit each machine.
