A guide rail gives your low loader ramps a fixed, secure home on the trailer. Ramps fitted with a bottom hook drop into the rail and can be slid sideways to line up with the wheels or tracks of the machine being loaded.
Our guide rail comes in lengths of 2600mm, which covers the rear of most low loaders and flatbeds. It is available in black or galvanised steel, depending on the finish you want and how hard the trailer works.
Fitting guide rail is usually straightforward on a new trailer build and can often be added to an existing trailer as part of a refit. Once it is on, the trailer becomes more versatile and more consistent to load, whoever is driving.
The big advantage is flexibility without compromise. You can set the ramps for a narrow machine on one load and a wide one on the next, and in both cases the hook keeps the ramp held against the trailer.
Guide rail works with the hook option across the VFR range of aluminium low loader ramps. If you are speccing a new trailer or upgrading an old one, it is worth considering from the start.
A ramp that moves under load is one of the main causes of loading incidents. Every fitting in the VFR range is designed to keep the ramp located against the trailer, whether it is resting on a lip, pivoting on a hinge or hooked into a rail.
The VFR family runs from the VFR 105 to the VFR 120, VFR 134 and VFR 185. Each step offers more capability for heavier plant, while keeping the same aluminium construction and the same choice of fittings and widths.
