Heavy Duty Low Loader Ramps

Bigger machines need bigger ramps. Our VFR range goes from the VFR 105 up through the VFR 120 and VFR 134 to the VFR 185, giving options for heavier plant.

All ramps in the range share the same special aluminium construction, strong, durable and weather resistant. The step up through the models gives more capability for heavier loads, with sizes and capacities set out in the tables on each product page.

Heavy plant raises the stakes on every aspect of loading. The ramp, the connection, the deck and the ground all need to be up to the job. Choosing the right VFR model and size is the starting point for a safe system with bigger machines.

Heavy plant puts more load through the ramp connection, especially as the machine crests the top. A secure fitting is essential, whether that is a lip with steel pin and movable safety device, a hinge fitting or a bottom hook into guide rail.

Wider ramps help with heavy tracked machines. The 520mm four profile option gives more room for tracks. If none of the standard sizes fits your job, other sizes are available on request.

Ramp angle has a big effect on how a machine behaves. A steep ramp can cause machines to ground out at the top, lose traction or tip abruptly. A longer ramp lowers the angle and makes loading smoother and more controlled.

A ramp that moves under load is one of the main causes of loading incidents. Every fitting in the VFR range is designed to keep the ramp located against the trailer, whether it is resting on a lip, pivoting on a hinge or hooked into a rail.
