Ramp length is all about angle. Too short for the deck height and the slope gets steep, which can catch the machine underneath or make traction tricky. When standard sizes do not fit, custom sizes solve it.
Our VFR low loader ramps come in a range of standard sizes, set out in the tables on each product page. Other sizes are available on request, so we can match a ramp to unusual trailers and deck heights.
If your trailer has an unusual deck height or your machines have low ground clearance, it is worth getting the length right rather than making do. A ramp that fits properly is safer and kinder to the machine.
Width can be tailored too, with three profiles giving 390mm and four profiles giving 520mm. Fittings include a lip with steel pin and movable safety device, a hinge fitting or a bottom hook for a guide rail.
Custom ramps use the same special aluminium construction as the standard range, so you are not trading quality for fit. Tell us about the machine and trailer and we will work out the right size.
Whether you run one trailer or a fleet, consistency helps. Using the same ramp type, fittings and widths across your vehicles means drivers know what to expect, training is simpler and spares are easier to manage.
Aluminium does not rust the way mild steel does. That means no flaking paint, no weakened sections and no orange streaks down the back of the trailer. Ramps keep their strength and appearance for longer, even when they live outside.
