Not every machine needs a wide ramp. For smaller plant, a three profile low loader ramp at 390mm wide gives plenty of support while keeping weight and bulk down.
Our ramps are built from aluminium profiles joined side by side. Three profiles give the 390mm width, which suits narrower tyres and tracks on compact excavators, dumpers and similar machines.
For businesses with a fleet of small plant, standardising on 390mm ramps keeps things simple. Every trailer carries the same ramp, every driver knows the weight and handling, and spares are interchangeable across the fleet.
A narrower ramp is easier to carry and store. That counts on smaller trailers where space is tight, and for drivers handling ramps on their own. Less aluminium also means a little less weight on the trailer.
The 390mm ramp is available with the same fitting options as the rest of the VFR range: a lip with steel pin and movable safety device, a hinge fitting or a bottom hook for a guide rail. If your machines need more width, the four profile 520mm option is the step up.
Ramps are only as good as the way they are used. Set them square to the trailer, check the fittings are engaged, keep the running surface clear and make sure nobody is standing where a machine or ramp could reach them.
Choosing the right ramp starts with three facts: the weight of the heaviest machine, its wheel or track width, and the deck height of the trailer. With those, it is straightforward to pick a model, a width and a length.
