Yes. PRV invested in its own silver and tin plating facility to take firmer control of quality, price and lead time, particularly on busbars and electrical components.
Silver gives the lowest contact resistance for high current joints. Tin gives cost effective protection against oxidation with good solderability. Doing it in-house means plating is no longer at the mercy of an outside supplier's queue.
PRV Engineering has been machining, fabricating and finishing from Pontypool, South Wales since 1986. The 54,000 sq ft facility runs 30 CNC machining centres, 10 deep hole drilling machines, a 5 axis waterjet, a full fabrication shop and in-house finishing and plating. Work is controlled to BS EN ISO 9001:2015, with BS EN 1090 EXC3, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 alongside.
