Product improvement engineering makes existing parts last longer and cost less. PRV's manufacturing development service looks at design, material and process. From its 54,000 sq ft site in Pontypool, South Wales, PRV Engineering has been machining, fabricating and finishing for UK industry since 1986.
PRV manufactures from its own designs, from customer drawings and specifications, or from OEM samples. Where needed, the engineering team produce complete drawings and stress analysis calculations. A design for manufacture approach and a manufacturing development service help improve existing products and processes, raising durability and bringing purchase costs down. In short, if you want to make it better, PRV can help.
The cheapest time to change a design is before it's made. A manufacturing partner involved early can spot features that drive cost, suggest alternative materials and simplify assembly. That's design for manufacture, and it often saves far more than any price negotiation ever could.
PRV serves a broad spread of industries including defence, medium to high voltage switchgear, rail, high performance automotive, oil and gas, pharmaceutical, petrochemical, food processing, aerospace, actuation, power generation, mechanical handling and valves. Whatever the sector, the standard is the same.
Whether you need a single prototype or thousands of repeat parts, the work is planned to suit. Mild steel, stainless, aluminium, copper, Monel, Inconel, Hastelloy and titanium are all machined regularly, and a stocking service lets customers cut their own inventory and call off as needed.
Getting started is straightforward. Share your drawing or sample, tell the team your quantities and deadline, and PRV will come back with a quote and any suggestions to save cost. From there the work is managed in-house through to final inspection and delivery.
Quality sits at the top of the agenda, with a zero tolerance policy on rejects. Work is completed under BS EN ISO 9001:2015 and BS EN 1090 EXC3, and PRV also holds ISO 14001 and ISO 45001. With every major process in-house, problems are caught early and fixed fast.
