Plant support structures hold heavy equipment level and secure. PRV fabricates and machines support steel for power and process plant. Established in 1986, PRV Engineering operates from a 54,000 sq ft precision engineering facility in Pontypool, South Wales.
Structural steelwork is fabricated to BS EN 1090 at Execution Class EXC3, which covers demanding structural applications. PRV supplies frames, canopies, platforms, supports and walkways, with the option of in-house shot blasting, painting and site installation. Compliance matters on structural work, and PRV holds Constructionline and Acclaim SSIP credentials alongside ISO 9001:2015, so principal contractors get a supplier that ticks the boxes.
Structural steel must be certified. Since BS EN 1090 came in, structural components need CE or UKCA marking, and the fabricator must hold the right execution class. Using an uncertified fabricator puts liability back on the project. PRV is certified to EXC3, which covers the vast majority of building and industrial structures.
Power generation plant uses big, heavy, high value parts where accuracy and reliability are everything. PRV has the large capacity machining, deep hole drilling and electrical component capability to support generation and distribution customers.
Materials range from everyday mild steels through to stainless, aluminium, copper and exotics such as Monel, Inconel, Hastelloy and titanium. PRV caters for one-offs, rapid prototypes and large batch production, and can hold stock for customers to call off in line with Kanban, VMI, consignment and JIT arrangements.
Every order follows a controlled route. Drawings are reviewed, materials are sourced with certification, work is planned across the shop floor and parts are inspected before dispatch. Customers get one contact who knows the job from quote to delivery.
Quality sits at the top of the agenda, with a zero tolerance policy on rejects. Work is completed under BS EN ISO 9001:2015 and BS EN 1090 EXC3, and PRV also holds ISO 14001 and ISO 45001. With every major process in-house, problems are caught early and fixed fast.
