The TSS joins lightweight sandwich structures by placing plastic bosses that melt to form a thermal adhesive bond.
It suits honeycomb or foam-core panels with GRP or CRP outer layers, with or without a pilot hole, from one side only.
The spindle runs up to 5,000 rpm with axial force up to 1,400 N. It weighs around 13 kg, and cycle times start from 3 seconds without cooling.
Bosses work directly as fasteners or as fixing points for self-tapping screws. Process parameters are monitored and evaluated in high resolution.
