RK International Machine Tools has announced a new partnership with Topking Technology Co., Ltd., bringing the Taiwanese manufacturer's precision grinding technology to customers across the UK. The agreement expands RK's grinding portfolio with a range of compact, high-rigidity machines designed for modern production environments.
Topking Technology was founded in Taichung in 2007 and has developed a broad range of precision grinding equipment, including NC and CNC cylindrical grinders, CAM grinding machines, hydrostatic centreless grinders and linear-motor-driven systems. Its machines are used internationally in sectors including aerospace, medical, automotive and precision engineering.
A key machine within the new partnership is the Topking X-25 CNC cylindrical grinder. Designed for manufacturers where floor space is limited, the X-25 uses a cross-slide travelling-head arrangement that can reduce the required footprint by more than 30 per cent compared with more traditional layouts. Keeping the workpiece stationary while the grinding head moves also helps support stability and precision.
The machine is built on a high-rigidity Meehanite cast-iron base, with hardened and precision-ground slideways and enclosed axis protection to help maintain accuracy in a demanding grinding environment. Despite measuring only around 1800 x 2310 x 1800mm, the X-25 provides a swing over the table of 270mm, a maximum grinding diameter of 250mm and 200mm between centres.
A 5.5kW grinding wheel spindle drives a wheel up to 510mm in diameter, while the spindle itself is manufactured from heat-treated SNCM-220 alloy steel for long-term rigidity and dimensional stability. Precision bearings and robust construction are intended to support efficient material removal and dependable production.
The X-25 can also be supplied with FANUC control technology, including the FANUC 0i-TF. A graphical user interface simplifies programming and allows complex components to be divided into individual grinding processes without requiring operators to rely entirely on conventional G-code programming.
