LIST OF INGREDIENTS 1 Cup (200g) Cypressa Green Lentils 4-5 Cups of water 2-3 tbs Vegetable oil or Ghee to fry 2 – 3 cloves of garlic finally chopped 1 medium onion finally chopped 1 tbs fresh Ginger finally chopped or grated 1-2 fresh green chillies chopped (depends on taste) 1 tsp Salt (to taste) 1 tbs Cumin seeds 1 tsp Turmeric powder 1 tsp Garam Masala or Curry powder 1-2 Fresh Tomatoes Chopped Fresh chopped coriander if you desire METHOD Wash and rinse the lentils in water. Put lentils and water in pan and bring to boil. Add salt and let it simmer for 60-80 mins until all most all liquid is absorbed and lentil is soft. Stir the lentils to ensure it does not stick to the pan and add more water if required. In a separate frying pan or sauce pan heat the oil or ghee on medium heat Add the Cumin seeds and garlic then fry off slightly Add chopped onion and cook until soft and golden brown. Add turmeric, chopped ginger and chopped chillies then gently cook for few mins. Add chopped tomatoes cook for further 1-2 mins. Lastly add garam masala and mix the cooked mixture into lentil Add chopped coriander for garnish Serve with Rice or Naan bread.
