Who can you trust for security advice?
Who can you trust to provide helpful advice that won't land land you in jail or liable to a serious fine? Who can you trust for security advice? Who can you trust to provide helpful advice that won't land land you in jail or liable to a serious fine? It should probably not come as a great surprise to learn that some of the advice available on the internet is less than 100% reliable. ...but when you visit a site that offers advice that if followed, could land you with a significant fine, a criminal record and / or a jail sentence, it's obviously time to worry! We have just stumbled across a handyman type site that suggests it's a good idea to attach carpet gripper to the top of your garden fence as a way to stop intruders climbing over your garden fence or deter cats from walking along it. Whilst we have no doubt that the use of carpet gripper would injure any intruder or animal trying to negotiate your fence, we would point out that the use of such a product is totally illegal and could lead to a criminal prosecution of anyone installing such a deterrent. There are a number of commercially available low cost anti climb product alternatives which are much more acceptable as a fence top type anti climb deterrent, ...however this simple example is a clear indication of the need to rely on security advice from a knowledgeable and responsible supplier.
