Following on from our previous post in which we described storm damage repairs to a local Roller Barrier installation, we have revisited a variety of locations where Roller Barrier has been in place for up to 17+ years. Take a look at how Roller Barrier is continuing to provide robust, reliable and safe anti climb security.
In last week’s blog post we described a recent repair carried out on a locally installed Roller Barrier system that had been damaged by a fallen branch, brought down by high winds. The post highlighted how long this particular Roller Barrier installation had been successfully providing reliable anti climb protection with no need for any maintenance, until it was damaged by the fallen branch.
This prompted us to use Google Streetview to examine a number of other Roller Barrier installations, carried out over the past 18 years. All of them continuing to reliably provide totally safe yet highly effective anti climb protection.
Original 2008 Roller Barrier Installation
Back in 2008 we were contacted by a Brighton based community establishment that was having problems due to their back yard being used by people to take and sell drugs. Workers were discovering dangerous, discarded paraphernalia every day, which needed to be carefully and safely removed. They needed anti climb protection that would not cause harm to anyone who might try to climb over and would effectively prevent them from doing so.
The image above, derived from Google Streetview, shows a small section of the Roller Barrier protected perimeter wall where double row Roller Barrier has been effectively used to increase the height of their boundary. This installation is now almost 18 years old but remains entirely effective.
Norris Green, Liverpool 2011
The Google Streetview image above shows Roller Barrier installed to protect this property in Norris Green, Liverpool. This installation was carried out back in 2011 when the clients were in dire need of anti climb protection but had very limited budget. Insight Security installed Roller Barrier and donated the Roller Cups for free to help them out.
Hove Junior School 2014
The Streetview image above shows the green front gates of a junior school in Hove, with colour-matching Roller Barrier along the top of the gates. This installation, which included the rear of the school, was originally carried out back in 2014, to prevent children from climbing into the property over the weekends when the school was closed.
Since the original installation, Roller Barrier has been extended further around the premises as the school is very happy with the totally safe, effective anti climb protection provided by the system.
Portland Oregon 2015
The Streetview image above shows Roller Barrier installed around a flat roofed area of a school in Portland Oregon.
This Roller Barrier installation was carried out in 2015 as part of an ongoing effort to modernise and rebuild Portland Public Schools (PPS). PPS has been systematically renovating, modernising, or rebuilding aging school facilities across the district and installing Roller Barrier, to provide safe anti climb protection, is an integral aspect of this modernisation.
Another Portland Oregon Installation 2015
The Streetview image above shows another school in Portland, Oregon where Roller Barrier installation was carried out in 2015.
This image clearly demonstrates how unobtrusive Roller Barrier is as it is quite difficult to spot the Roller Barrier around the entrance and along the roof line.
Houghton Regis Library 2016
As part of their property refurbishment, carried out in 2016, Houghton Regis Library installed Roller Barrier to safely prevent climbers from getting onto their roof.
A notable aspect of this installation was the requirement to curve the Roller Barrier to match the curved building contour, shown more clearly in the image below.
Gloucester Road, Brighton 2017
The image above shows a gateway in Gloucester Road Brighton. Look closely and you can see Roller Barrier, installed along the bottom of the gate and adjacent fence, back in 2017. It was reported that intruders were sliding through the gap, under the gate.
The property owners wanted a more aggressive barrier for the top, but opted for ultra-safe Roller Barrier to block the gap at the bottom and prevent further intrusions.
Hove Seafront 2019
The image above shows a collection of beach huts in Hove with Roller Barrier installed in 2019 to keep climbers off the roof. A notable aspect of this installation are the white-coloured Roller Cups that match the paintwork on the beach huts.
Lioncare School Hove 2020
The Streetview image above shows a standard Roller Barrier installation along the top of a perimeter wall and above the gates of Lioncare School in Hove. The installation was carried out back in 2020 to protect the property from unwanted intruders.
Burger King, Brighton 2022
The image above shows Burger King on Brighton seafront. You can see that unobtrusive, black Roller Barrier has been installed along the top of the screen that separates the outdoor seating area from the public pavement.
Brighton is a lively city, packed with revellers at weekends who can sometimes be overly exuberant. This Roller Barrier installation is safely preventing inebriated revellers from attempting to climb over the barrier while diners are enjoying their meals.
