Composite work involves cure cycles, tight tolerances and surfaces that can't be contaminated. The tape has to survive the heat and leave nothing behind.
Polyimide and Kapton tapes are widely used for masking and holding during cure. Polyester tapes with silicone adhesives suit lower temperature work, and glass cloth tapes offer strength where tape needs to take some load.
Hadleigh stocks all of these and can slit to exact widths for layup and trimming work. Test samples are free, which matters when every trial part is expensive.
