ManchesterDescription: Application / Technical Support X 3 – Manchester £18-22K - SQL . A brand new and exciting opportunity is immediately available to work for a successful application software company in the North West (Manchester). You will work as a Application / Technical Support Engineer , working within a team, providing technical and application support - this is a mixed and exciting role with huge scope for progression. Training will be provided and knowledge of the product is not expected. Core Skill Set: Responsibilities: • To provide technical support to the Customer base remotely and on site • To log all reported support incidents and document their lifecycle to facilitate identification of common support issues • To manage own case load including resolution within internal SLA’s and escalation to appropriate member of staff • To contribute as a whole to the support desk to ensure helpdesk systems and software are kept up to date and all feedback is done promptly • Provide out of hours support where required by the customer or company • To follow and complete all associated documentation as laid out in published process workflows • To maintain and develop professional working relationship with customers • To undertake projects which is on level with responsibility of the post Other responsibilities: • To provide meaningful feedback to senior staff on cases and other project tasks • To maintain personal and professional development to meet the changing demands of the job, to assist in the training and development of other technical staff. Desired Candidate Skills: • Previous exposure to telephony and telecoms • Good level of knowledge of workstations, servers and server technology. • Knowledge of Windows Operating systems, deployment, installation and support practices. • Network implementation, testing and debugging skills • Basic SQL admin maintenance i.e. re-indexing • Previous experience working in a support role Essential Candidate Skills: • Excellent Communication and interpersonal skills • Should have a good Analytical, logical and fault finding skills • Ability to work in a team and independently with minimum supervision • Working experience of using and writing queries for MS SQL server • Must be open to flexible working hours and shift patterns It would be beneficial for future progression within the business that the candidate has a Full UK driving licence You will be exposed to all areas of the business and will play an integral role in the growth of the business from the outset – this is something that could not be achieved in a large company.
