Overmoulded String Gliders

AAV Plastics are proud to have engineered a specialist system for manufacturing curtain gliders, with the gliders overmoulded directly onto the string at precise intervals. Our innovative feed and take-up system advances the string during each moulding cycle, ensuring consistent spacing (±0.5mm). The tool also allows for custom part spacing, providing flexibility to suit different applications.

The development process began with a simple hand-loaded tool to validate the concept and functionality. Once proven, AAV designed and manufactured a full-production injection moulding tool, delivering reliable, cost-effective parts at scale. This project highlights our expertise in overmoulding, precision tooling design, and product innovation for both niche and high-volume applications.
