Our history begins in 1955, when Dufaylite Developments Ltd pioneered a form of paper honeycomb. The company's founder, George May, recognised the extraordinary inherent strength of the honeycomb shape, and went on to explore and develop new industrial uses for his product. The first breakthrough came when the honeycomb was used in aircraft construction during the Second World War. Next, it was found to be a perfect component when placed inside mass-produced doors. The lightweight nature and structural strength of Dufaylite's core honeycomb product has resulted in it becoming one of the most widely used products in all kinds of applications. And the company now operates five dedicated divisions to serve each of its customer bases.
