Chauvin Arnoux 1950 Diacam2 Thermal Camera

The Chauvin Arnoux 1950 Diacam2 Thermal Camera is a really handy tool thanks to its range of applications across a spectrum of different sectors. It measures and depicts temperature between -20?C and +250?C to within 2% or ?2?C accuracy via an 80 x 80 pixel thermal sensor. This has uses in building, mechanical maintenance and electrical inspections as abnormal temperature patterns often constitute the first sign of, for example, malfunctioning components, leaks/blockages in water pipes and many other issues.

With a thermal sensitivity of ≤80mK, differences of just 0.08?C are visualised on the 2.5” (320 x 240 pixel) screen which also has a range of three colour palettes. A visible-light image is supplied by an integrated digital camera and the user can easily toggle between thermal and visible views by using the trigger so analysis is simple with the Chauvin Arnoux 1950. The 20? x 20? field of view allows quick inspection of a large area whilst the useful fixed focus means that the image is always clear (≥40cm distance from target). The colour scale automatically changes to suit the range of surface temperatures within the image although this can also be manually adjusted as required.

The thermal/visible image is shown alongside a temperature reading at the adjustable measurement point and the date, time and colour scale in order to bring further clarity once the image is viewed on the instrument or on a computer screen. For electrical maintenance, the Chauvin Arnoux 1950 can communicate wirelessly with compatible clamp meters and multimeters via Bluetooth to display an electrical value alongside the thermal/visible image.

Both thermal images and their visible counterparts are stored onto the Chauvin Arnoux 1950’s removable 4GB micro-SD card whilst data transfer can be performed through the supplied USB cable. Bluetooth connectivity also allows the user to add voice annotations to files through the Plantronics Explorer 10 headset which comes provided as standard. Once on a computer, supplied CAmReport software can be used to edit and analyse pictures.

A huge 13-hour battery life means that the user can use the Chauvin Arnoux 1950 for an entire working day without having to worry about charging. It is powered by four rechargeable AA batteries and a charger is included. The camera and all its standard accessories (batteries, charger, software CD, USB cable, micro-SD, bluetooth headset, quick start guide) are supplied in a handy hard carry case with foam padding and there is even a tripod insert on the base. This product has been drop tested to 2m and comes with a 2-year warranty.
