69S Tool Steel - Flats, Squares
69S is a propular grade of tool steel, it is a high carbon, high chromium cold work tool steel equivalent that is equivalent to DIN 1.2379 / D2 / x153CrMoV12. Recommended for use when greater toughness is required. It offers good wear resistance and high compressive strength. 69S is heat treatable and can offer a hardness in the range 55-62 HRC, when hardened correctly 69S tool steel shows little distortion. It is machinable in the annealed condition. 69S steel's high chromium content affords it mild corrosion resisting properties in the hardened condition.
