Find The Needle Add My Company
When Was The Last Time You Tested Your Website’s forms?
It’s an important question if your website has a contact form, an ecommerce cart or an onsite search facility.. The problem is that these can easily stop working or produce poor results and if you don’t check them every two weeks or so, you could easily be losing enquiries or even orders… The solution is simple enough, though, just go to the site and try to send yourself a message from the contact form, or place a dummy order on the cart (if you can’t do this at least test the system up to the buy button). As for the Onsite Search box, just try to find something that you sell, and see if it is listed. Better still, use a description of what it is and see what the search system comes up with. This is important as people will not always use the right name or terms. For example, if you sell Rubber Ducks as a bath toy, then if someone just types in ‘bath toys’ then they should be listed as you cannot guarantee that they are going to type in ‘rubber duck’….. And while we are on the subject of onsite searches, do you regularly check these to see what has been searched for? This is another vital check, and can provide valuable market information. For example, if you only sell rubber rabbits, and people are searching for rubber ducks, then maybe you should get some in… You see, there is far more to running a website than setting it up and praying for traffic and sales..
