Humidity Control for Offices
Maintaining the right relative humidity in offices is often overlooked. Spaces cooled by air conditioning in summer and heated in winter can become too dry, harming employee health, lowering productivity and increasing sickness absence.
Recommended workplace humidity
The ideal range is 40–60% RH. If levels fall below 40%, staff may experience electrostatic shocks, dry eyes and throat, dehydration, and a higher risk of viral transmission.
Seasonal effects
Outdoor weather drives indoor humidity. In winter, colder air and increased heating dry the environment; levels can drop below 20% RH, creating discomfort and static on metal, plastic and paper surfaces. In summer, air conditioning also strips moisture, reducing humidity and raising energy costs.
AER1 Office Humidifier
The AER1 Office Humidifier introduces fine moisture without wetting, helping keep meeting rooms and open-plan areas comfortable and stable.
Smart control beats turning up the heat
The instinct in winter is to raise the thermostat, but this dries the air further and increases heating costs. Correct humidification makes rooms feel warmer and more comfortable at lower temperatures, and offsets the drying effect of air conditioning in summer.
