They certainly don't work like a normal electrostatic air cleaner. As a result, they don't look like a normal air cleaner either. The CellFlow range relies on the EcoPrecision™ filter. This is an electrostatic filter that can be easily cleaned. This means that several of the range have a self cleaning or semi self cleaning mechanism. ● Whisper quiet ● Very high filtration efficiency, equivalent of H14 HEPA ● High energy efficiency ● Very low running costs ● Effective filtration of viruses, bacteria and mould spores ● Effective filtration of soot, smoke, pollen and other particulates ● Excellent performance against PM10, PM2.5 and PM0.1 Self Cleaning Electrostatic Air Cleaner Self Cleaning SC CellFlow models with self cleaning will automatically clean the EcoPrecision™ filter. The removed dust is collected into a vacuum bag. The vacuum bag is changed as part of periodic maintenance of the unit. Electrostatic Air Cleaner Economics Assuming you are happy with the efficiency and air flow of an electrostatic air cleaner, the next consideration is the running cost. This means it periodically cleans its own filter and resumes operation automatically. The CellFlow Ind5000 Ceiling SC puts all the captured dust into a vacuum bag which will hold much more dust than a conventional filter. This, therefore means that the replacing the filter is a very, very rare thing. The vacuum bag will require replacement from time to time, but it's cost is dramatically less than a filter. Energy efficiency. Normal air cleaners have a energy hungry fan that has to push (or pull) air through a filter that presents significantair resistance. This air resistance increases as the dust loading on the filter increases which means that the energy usage goes up as the filters get dirty. The CellFlow Ind5000 Ceiling SC has a EcoPrecision™ filter. This filter is electrostatic and has negligible air resistance therefore very low running costs. The self cleaning cleaning cycle ensures that the wattage required by the fan is always minimal. We assess electrostatic air cleaner energy efficiency using a ratio which we call the Efficiency rate, which is a measure of how many m3/hr of air you can treat with a watt of energy.
