PinTherm Mistral Thermostat for Seamless Control

The PinTherm Mistral is a digital room thermostat with a weekly programmable timer, designed to work seamlessly with the Mark MISTRAL MDX heat pump. It’s also suitable for managing air-to-water heat pumps when used with the new Mark Tanner MDA+ air heater/cooler.

Equipped with an on/off contact and a 0–10 VDC output, the thermostat supports easy monitoring and adjustment via Modbus or Ethernet, enabling integration with most Building Management Systems (BMS).

What Is an Industrial VRF Air-to-Air Heat Pump System?

A VRF (Variable Refrigerant Flow) system is an efficient climate control solution consisting of an outdoor heat pump and one or more indoor units, connected via a refrigerant circuit. Functioning as an air-to-air heat pump, it cools spaces by removing warm air and expelling it outside, while heating is provided by reversing the cycle.

VRF—sometimes referred to as VRV (Variable Refrigerant Volume)—means the system can adjust the amount of refrigerant used depending on demand. In the MISTRAL MDX, an expansion valve within the indoor unit regulates refrigerant flow to manage both output and discharge temperature. This allows for precise and efficient control, making it an excellent choice for large-scale climate management in buildings such as warehouses, industrial halls, distribution centres, and showrooms.
