New Metrology Equipment

Accurate, reliable and repeatable manufacturing relies on precision measurements before, during and after machining. Laser Micromachining Ltd. (LML) knows how important measurements are for process development and quality control, and continually invests in the latest metrology equipment to help support the company’s world-leading micromachining services.

To enhance LML’s existing suite of metrology capabilities, LML has installed a Keyence LM-1000 Series high accuracy image measurement system. Combining a 20Mpix camera with high resolution lenses that cover an area of 225mm x 125mm, the Keyence LM microscope has the ability to automatically detect, measure and report on multiple parts simultaneously with sub-micron accuracy. This capability will further improve LML’s production manufacturing offerings and allow customers to receive bespoke QC reports on high-volume, high-specification micro-components.

Partial funding for the Keyence LM microscope was provided by Welsh Government.
