Kingly Participates in Bulgarian Premiere of Beyond Zero, Celebrating Visionary Corporate Sustainability

Kingly had the privilege of attending the Bulgarian premiere of Beyond Zero, a powerful documentary presented by the UN Global Compact Network Bulgaria and their media partners at ESGnews.bg. Held on May 15, 2025, at Cine Grand in Park Center Sofia, the film tells the remarkable story of Interface, a company that became a global icon for corporate sustainability under the leadership of its visionary CEO, Ray Anderson.

More than 30 years ago, Anderson experienced a profound shift in perspective, leading him to steer Interface toward a radical goal—achieving zero environmental impact. What followed was a transformation that challenged industry norms and redefined what it means to be a sustainable business. His journey, marked by innovation, resistance, and unwavering belief in doing what’s right, resonated deeply with the 70 attendees, including ESG leaders, business executives, and sustainability advocates.

Kingly’s Sustainability Manager, Kristi White, had the opportunity to meet and exchange ideas with Tomasz Svoboda, the global ESG expert who helped bring the film to Bulgaria. “Beyond Zero was incredibly inspiring,” Kristi shared. “Ray Anderson’s transformation—from someone initially unaware of sustainability to a visionary leader guiding his company toward what he called the “top of Mount Sustainability”—was truly remarkable. He faced numerous challenges, including scepticism from within his own team. Yet he pressed on with unwavering conviction. His commitment to sustainability and his compelling vision for the company ultimately inspired his entire workforce.

What stood out most was the boldness of his approach—he demonstrated that meaningful change requires taking risks. Interface serves as a powerful example that sustainability doesn’t have to come at the expense of profitability. On the contrary, it can drive innovation, generate revenue, and fundamentally transform a business for the better.”

The energy in the room was contagious. Sharika Betts from our Sales team summed up the experience perfectly: “The movie made me WANT to make a change and do my part. I’m so glad I was chosen to attend. The food was incredible, the hosting was excellent, and the chance to speak with the guest speaker was unforgettable.”

The following day, Kingly also took part in the General Assembly of the Bulgarian Network of the UN Global Compact, continuing our commitment to engaging with the broader community working toward sustainable and ethical business practices.
