ICEE has a new logo
ICEE has a new logo To reflect fast changing times and new business development ICEE Managed Services has redesigned its logo, using the recent Road Expo exhibition in Scotland as a launch platform. Although ICEE remains highly focused on designing, manufacturing, installing and maintaining bespoke equipment enclosures for the telecommunications, road traffic control and related industries, it is increasingly finding new business in areas such as transport and highways engineering, architecture and construction, renewable energy and other sectors. The company is evolving as a result, showing its ability to be flexible and innovative. “We have taken a hard look at what the market wants, where ICEE is going and how to get there. That is all part of a continuous improvement and lean thinking process. But with this open-minded approach we felt it was important to manifest those new ideas clearly within the company and to the outside world in something everyone could plainly see. An updated logo seems like one of the right ways to do that,” says Paul Harris, Managing Director of ICEE. When the company was formed back in 1985 ICEE stood for Installer of Communications and Electronic Equipment. Today, the company not only manufactures bespoke enclosures, large and small, simple and complex, but also provides other essential services. It is diversifying and adding new resources to support new business. Underlying all those changes, however, are values and capabilities that endure over many years. “As you can see, we have changed what the letters ICEE represent,” says Paul Harris. “Now, ‘I’ stands for innovation, signifying the company’s strength in coming up with resourceful and sometimes ‘left field’ solutions to clients’ problems. “‘C’ represents collaboration, because these days a supplier has to partner very closely with its client and work as one with that company (which is where flexibility comes in again, plus good resources). ‘E’ is for excellence, a constant reminder of what we are all working towards. And the second ‘E’ represents experience, an extremely valuable and cost-saving resource we always offer clients.” The logo may seem like a small step but actually it signifies a much more profound change for ICEE, in short, gearing up to meet new business development and investing for the future. As a matter of policy, the company continually puts in place new resources – it has some of the most advanced manufacturing equipment in the region – and in addition, invests in important support facilities such as its service centre in Warrington Summing up, Paul Harris says: “ICEE has evolved from our beginnings in installation and commissioning (I&C) work. We have moved into bespoke and highly competitive enclosure solutions, and acquired advanced sheet metal profile cutting, fabrication and related capabilities to support that business, and keeping a firm grip on that core business we are now venturing into new sectors. We never stand still. Strategically, this means ICEE is very competitively placed to face 2015 and well beyond.”
