Fuel Proof’s diesel tanks put to the ultimate test in ‘the coldest journey on earth’
Fuel Proof have been commissioned to design and build two customised 850 litre fuel storage tanks to support Sir Ranulph Fiennes’ latest expedition The trek is a record-breaking 2000 mile trek across Antarctica during winter (a first ever trans-arctic winter expedition) is raising millions of pounds for charity and also providing valuable scientific research. The Coldest Journey With difficult terrain and temperatures dropping as low as -90°C, the project presents a huge test of endurance to both the team and their equipment. Behind the six-man Ice Team on foot will be two bulldozers each hauling giant industrial sledges carrying the teams living quarters, supplies, fuel and a science lab. After setting sail from Cape Town on 6th January the tanks along with the other equipment and expedition crew arrived at Crown Bay in Eastern Antarctica on February 13th.
