PUWER in the Workplace

PUWER in the Workplace is a CSS Worksafe training course developed to improve knowledge, competence and safer working practices.

Aims & Objectives: The course is specifically designed for any person who is involved with PUWER and machinery, to gain a understand of the legal.

Requirements: set out by the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998, to ensure safe work equipment is selected, and the risks posed by work equipment are appropriately managed.

Suitability: Operatives.

Syllabus: Introduction, Background to the regulations / directives, Legislation and the duties of an employer to provide safe equipment for their employees to use, Responsibility, Hierarchy of control, Risks by installation, Maintenance expectations, Dangerous parts of machinery and controlling these risks, Identification of hazards and risk.

Assessment: , HRN approach to risk evaluation, Control and control systems, PUWER inspections, Approach to practical PUWER risk.

Assessment: s in the workplace, Application review & question time, Multiple Choice Test Notes. Fully Comprehensive notes will be given to all delegates who attend the course.

Certification: On satisfactory completion of the course a certificate of competence will be issued that will be valid for 3 years.
