MEWP Training 3a and 3b is a CSS Worksafe training course developed to improve knowledge, competence and safer working practices.
Aims & Objectives: This course is designed for operatives who are required to work with MEWPs (mobile elevated work platforms). On completion of the course, delegates will be able to drive mobile elevated work platforms safely and manoeuvre them as required.
Suitability: Operatives who are required to work with mobile elevated work platforms (MEWPs).
Requirements: No prior experience is required. A snack lunch is provided.
Syllabus: Introduction to MEWPs. Introduction to MEWPs. Safe operation and limitations of use. Major components. Pre-Use Checks. Pre-use checks and inspection. Starting and stopping the machine.
Pre-use function checks. Operating the Machine. Planning the route. Travelling the route and manoeuvring. Setting the machine up for work. Basic operational practice. Typical work applications. Parking the machine.
Assessment: Theory test. Practical.
Assessment: Notes. Comprehensive notes will be given to all students who attend the course. A snack lunch is provided.
Certification: On completion of training delegates will be issued with a certificate of attendance, which will be valid for five years.
