DSEAR Awareness 1 Day is a CSS Worksafe training course developed to improve knowledge, competence and safer working practices.
Aims & Objectives: This one-day course focuses on the legal.
Requirements: of DSEAR. There are 17 regulations within DSEAR, of which 11 carry mandatory compliance duties. The course is designed to give those responsible for enforcing and controlling health and safety a clear understanding of these duties, so they can ensure their organisation manages the risks from dangerous substances and explosive atmospheres correctly.
Suitability: Those responsible for enforcing and controlling health and safety in the workplace - those responsible for ensuring safety but who do not work in the environment themselves. Senior management and director level.
Requirements: No prior DSEAR experience is required.
Syllabus: The DSEAR Regulations & Your Legal Duties. An overview of the Dangerous Substances and Explosive Atmospheres Regulations (DSEAR). The 17 regulations within DSEAR, and the 11 that carry mandatory compliance duties.
The responsibilities of those who manage, enforce and control workplace safety. Understanding the Risk. Dangerous substances and how explosive atmospheres arise in the workplace. The employer's duties around hazard identification and risk.
Assessment: How the regulations apply at management, plant and company-policy level. Course Materials. Each delegate receives a full and detailed 100-page training manual to support their learning.

Certification: On satisfactory completion of the course a certificate of competence will be issued that will be valid for three years.
