Snowflake Pendant & Earrings
06/03/2022

With Christmas on it’s this is the perfect gift for you or a snow loving friend! Create a beautiful pair of earrings and a matching pendant ready for the festive mood.

Step One

SECURE YOUR SILVER DISCS Place the Sterling Silver discs on the metal block. You might wish to secure your blanks to your metal block using double sided tape or masking tape.

Step Two

STAMP SNOWFLAKES ONTO YOUR DISC Place the snowflake stamp on the Silver discs and hit the top of the stamp using the hammer to create an impression in the metal. Repeat to create a pattern over the discs. You might wish to practise first using a piece of copper sheet or blank.

Step Three

CENTRE PUNCH YOUR DISC Place the centre punch on your discs and hit the top of it with the hammer to make a mark. Repeat to create a pattern. You can make deeper and lighter marks by varying how hard you hit the stamp with the hammer.

Step Four

REMOVE THE BAIL FROM YOUR SNOWFLAKE Take the ready-made snowflake pendant and cut the top bail off using tin snips or side cutter pliers. Remove the bail completely.

Step Five

THREAD YOUR SNOWFLAKE INTO THE JUMP RING Grip either side of a jump ring using pliers and twist to open. Thread your snowflake and largest stamped Silver disc onto the jump ring. Reverse the twisting process to close your jump ring. It’s best to use a jump ring made of thicker wire and ensure the two ends align perfectly so it doesn’t come open. If you are able to, solder the jump ring closed.

Step Six

THREAD YOUR PENDANT Thread the pendant onto the Sterling Silver chain.

Step Seven

ADD YOUR EARRING AND SMALL DISC TO YOUR JUMP RING Grip either side of a jump ring using pliers and twist to open, then add your earring and the smallest stamped Silver disc. Reverse the twisting process to close your jump ring. Repeat to make a second earring and add on your Silver scrolls to the posts.

Step Eight

POLISH YOUR FINAL CREATION Finish by gently rubbing with a Silver polishing cloth
