Software Development Engineer

You'll join our busy Engineering department providing software programming skills for the development of a number of new and existing products. You will primarily be involved in the development of data logging and control applications written in VB. Because of the diversity of end applications, you will be involved with a wide variety of software disciplines such real time data acquisition, TCP/IP, Modbus etc. communication protocols and SQL. You?fll also have the opportunity to get involved in some real-time embedded firmware development written in C. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years programming experience with an engineering discipline and knowledge of modern operating systems; experience of Embedded Xp would be an advantage, although not essential. VB and C are the preferred languages, experience of web development would also be useful. There will be numerous opportunities for worldwide travel, for the liaison with clients, commissioning and support of new designs. A current driving licence will therefore be essential. A good renumeration package (basic + benefits) will be offered to the successful candidate.
