For more than 60 years, weber Sensors has been a trusted name in industrial sensor technology worldwide. Under the captor® brand, we design, manufacture and supply sensors for monitoring and measuring liquid and gaseous media, alongside inductive proximity switches and hot metal detectors.

Our products serve demanding sectors including steel, metal and mining, HVAC, renewable energy, transport, water treatment and food production. captor® products reach customers directly and through an authorised network of distribution partners present in most industrialised countries, giving local support wherever our customers operate.

Quality sits at the centre of everything we do. Our German manufacturing operations are certified to DIN EN ISO 9001:2015 and audited regularly by external assessors. We don't just maintain our quality standards, we work continuously to raise them further.

Innovation runs deep in our history. Since Günther Weber founded the company in Weinheim in the 1950s, we've pushed the boundaries of sensor technology. Our foto-captor, launched in 1955, remains a world leading hot metal detector. In 1961 we introduced one of the first inductive two wire proximity switches, and in 1968 we brought the kalorimetric principle to industrial use with the flow-captor and vent-captor ranges.

Our customer relationships often go beyond typical supplier arrangements. Many of our clients are international OEMs and system integrators, and we work closely with them to develop integrated sensor solutions tailored to their overall plant design. Combining their sector expertise with our depth of knowledge in electronic sensing gives the most cost effective technical outcome for the task at hand.

Today, more than 100 people across our global operations are dedicated to developing, manufacturing, supporting and distributing captor® products, backed by a worldwide network of dealers and representatives.

Reliable. Durable. Made in Germany.
