Adjustable Torque Positioning Hinge

These adjustable torque positioning hinges allow the user to adjust the frictional torque of the hinge to be able to hold lids and doors open. These hinges are made out an acetal polymer, with a polycarbonate pin and a zinc plated steel screw to adjusting the torque. These hinges use thru-hole mounting for assembly and allow the customer control over the hinge’s torque via a screw which adjusts the friction. Once adjusted the hinge’s torque will remain constant throughout the hinging motion to control the position of the lid or door and hold it in place, fully open, fully closed and anywhere in between.

Adjustable torque positioning hinges have the unique ability to be suitable for a range of solutions, where during construction or assemble the hinge can be adjusted to hold the weight of the lid or door being used.
