ESPEC CORP., has once again been recognised for excellence in design and innovation. The Platinous J Series ECO Type Temperature & Humidity Chambers have received the GOOD DESIGN AWARD 2025, organised by the Japan Institute of Design Promotion.
This marks the thirty-first Good Design Award for ESPEC — a fantastic achievement that underlines their position as a global leader in environmental testing technology and sustainable design.
Innovation meets efficiency
The award recognises how the ECO Platinous J Series builds on ESPEC’s long-proven reliability with big advances in energy efficiency, environmental performance and user experience. Using proprietary refrigeration technology, the ECO models can cut power consumption by up to 70% compared with conventional designs — even at low operating temperatures like –40°C.
The chambers also use the low-GWP R-449A refrigerant, helping users reduce greenhouse gas emissions and stay ahead of tightening global regulations around carbon neutrality and fluorocarbons.
Recognised for thoughtful design
The Good Design Award judges praised the chamber’s refined exterior styling and intuitive multilingual interface, which make it easy to use across global markets. They described the product as “a model for the next generation of test devices that will support manufacturing in the future”, highlighting its flexibility to meet diverse specifications and user needs.
Designed for demanding applications
The Platinous J Series ECO Type chambers are ideal for tough testing environments, including battery charge and discharge testing (at cell, module and pack levels), long-duration low-temperature performance testing, and evaluation of electronic components and devices.
