A mechanical gas density monitor compares the switchgear gas against a sealed reference gas chamber inside the device. Both react to temperature in the same way, so the comparison cancels out temperature effects.
When the density in the switchgear drops below the set point, the monitor switches its contacts to raise an alarm or block operation. No power is needed for the measurement itself, which makes the principle extremely dependable.
Whether you need a simple alarm, a continuous signal or both in one unit, Trafag's monitors, sensors and hybrids have it covered. View the range to compare models.
