Find The Needle Add My Company
Girls’ Day at TR-Electronic.
Girls’ Day at TR-Electronic. (Trossingen, 25.4.2013) TR-Electronic took part in Girls’ Day for the first time. Five girls from the Karl-Brachat-Realschule in Villingen and from the Viktor-von-Scheffelschule in Blumberg took advantage of the opportunity to gain an insight into technical professions. After an overview of the company's products and services, the group got started right away and began the day with a visit to the Goods Receiving Department, which handles the inspection of incoming goods and notifies the relevant departments of the deliveries. Then it was into the laser tunnel, which is a total of 220 m in length. This is where the laser measuring devices are inspected and receive their linearization profile. The tour continued through the entire production plant. The schoolgirls were able to immerse themselves in the world of rotary encoders and angle measuring technology. Another highlight was the tour of me-tec GmbH (subsidiary of TR-Electronic GmbH), where a large range of machinery was waiting to be discovered. Here cutting-edge CNC machines are used to drill, mill and machine a wide variety of surfaces in 3-shift operation. After all of the listening and watching, some hands-on activity was required: each of the Girls Day Girls were invited to build their own LED star. This demanded skilled handling of soldering iron, side cutters and pliers. Success was quickly evident: thanks to the girls' talent and manual dexterity, the LEDs flashed as desired and reacted to language and music. We very much appreciate the interest and the input of the Girls' Day fathers, and hope to be able to welcome many inquisitive girls again next year.
