How Long Does it Take to Put Scaffolding Up?
The time required to erect scaffolding depends on the type of system, the size of the building and the conditions on site.

TopTower gives typical examples ranging from up to two hours for a small access tower and two to four hours for a single-storey property, through to one to three days for a multi-storey commercial building. Complex industrial scaffolding may take longer still.

Site access, ground conditions, nearby buildings, overhead cables, public highways and the need for permits can all affect installation time. More complicated scaffold designs may also require specialist planning before work begins.

On installation day, the scaffold is built progressively from the ground upwards, with base plates or sole boards, standards, ledgers, transoms, boards, guardrails and ties installed before a final safety inspection is carried out.
