As secure printers of the 'good old dependable' cheque, the Group has seen this once threatened financial document gain a new lease of life following the launch of the Image Clearing System in October 2017 here in the UK.
This facility allows bank customers to take an image of a cheque either by mobile phone, tablet or desktop cheque scanner and subject to the appropriate arrangements in place be able to deposit this into their bank account remotely with no need to attend their bank branch to pay-in the physical document.
As a result the cheque will remain a viable payment document for many corporates and charities who see large numbers of payments made by cheque annually.
With secure print solutions available for customers to print their own cheques on pre-prepared base stock, or using TALL's own cheque bureau services where payments can be prepared and mailed on the customer's behalf, then the cheque will be here for some time yet.
