Packaging company unveils its new name and look
Packaging company unveils its new name and look A North East Lincolnshire packaging and labelling company has this month unveiled its new name and look. Tach-It (UK), with effect from Monday September 4 2006, will now be known as Teneo (UK), a Latin word that means to know, to understand and to maintain. Tach-It (UK) was established in 1986 by Jim McAndrew. The company was run by him until his retirement in 2001 and is now owned and managed by his son Derek, who has worked with the company for over 17 years. Earlier this year, Tach-It (UK) celebrated 20 years of successfully supplying it's customers with good quality tagging, packaging and labelling products. Having now severed its alliance with its American partners Derek thought that this would be the perfect opportunity to look at developing and rebranding the company. Derek explained: "Tach-It (UK) and its abbreviation TUK has become a recognised and trusted brand in the packaging and labelling industries across the UK and Europe however, we thought that the time was right to look at rebranding the organisation. "The printing and packaging industry is a very competitive market place and it is important to move with the industry. Keeping abreast of technology has been one of the reasons that we have been able to stay ahead of the competition. "We have thought very carefully about its new name and look as we wanted it to reflect the same values that the Tach-It brand has become recognised for. "We felt that the name Teneo (UK) would enable us to still use our well known abbreviation TUK, we also thought that its Latin meaning reflected the core values of our business, to know, to understand and to maintain." The modern Teneo (UK) logo retains a sense of consistency by featuring the well known orange, blue and white of the Tach-It logo while the corporate literature also heavily features these colours. Over the next year, the company will be using the strapline, If it is not Tach-It, it must be Teneo. Derek continued: "We have developed a comprehensive marketing plan to make sure that all our suppliers and clients are aware of the change in the company name. We will also be personally informing all of our clients as we want to ensure them that the quality and service that we have become renowned for will not change." Starting life as a husband and wife team servicing the textile industry, Tach-it (UK) is recognised as a major player in the packaging and labelling industries. From its headquarters at Jasmin House, Ayscough Street in Grimsby the company now employs 11 people. Having developed three divisions in Tag Attaching Systems, Packaging Equipment and Label Printing Solutions it has become a valued supplier of companies across the UK and Europe, including one of the UK's leading supermarket chains.
