The course cuts through the north of England, crossing three National Parks and packing in 6,500 metres of ascent – the equivalent of climbing Snowdon five times. It’s considered one of the UK’s most iconic and demanding endurance events.
This isn’t a race for the faint-hearted. As well as being physically fit and mentally tough, every athlete must be entirely self-sufficient – no outside help or support allowed. Safety is tightly managed by the organisers, with every competitor carrying a GPS tracker and monitored throughout.
James’s dedication to his training has been second to none. The same can-do attitude he brings to work each day is exactly what carried him through to the finish line.

“It was just about finishing the event really – the result was an added bonus.”
Everyone at TPS is incredibly proud.
Congratulations, James – a brilliant achievement.
